about Hal Hochhauser
Hal is the proprietor of Metropolitan Motorbikes. A native New Yorker, he was born in Brooklyn, raised in Queens, lived 16 years in Manhattan and now resides in Weehawken, NJ. He is a long-time motorbike rider, mechanic and adventurer. "Just put me on a motorcycle and I'm happy", Hal says.
Inspired as a child by the tv series "Then Came Bronson", Hal eventually fell in love with motorbikes at age 16 when he first rode a rented scooter, exploring France's Mediterranean coast from Cannes to Nice to Monaco. "I remember it like it was yesterday. Soon after returning home I bought my first helmet, though it would be another year before I could even get my learner's permit. It was a way of affirming that I was working on this goal, that I was going to have a motorcycle."
Time came soon enough when Hal could finally hit that 'long lonesome highway.' He stopped counting the miles he rode when he topped 100,000, thirty years ago. "I still get the same pleasure when riding today. It's both thrilling and meditatively relaxing...at the same time."
Hal brings years of business experience to this company and a deep sense of commitment to his customers. "I want everyone to enjoy the riding experience. For convenience, economy and pleasure, there's no better way to get yourself around the New York area."
